Position Summary:
The Data Coordinator is a non-clinical position that provides information management and program support to enhance the individual and population health outcomes for the Medicaid members in the Medically Complex Children’s Waiver Program. This position is responsible for compiling, reviewing, and maintaining waiver participant information upon enrollment and through the duration of enrollment. This position will assist with quality assurance and accurate data monitoring related to participant information. This position requires strong fluency with excel, understanding of data trends, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and ensures the confidentiality of all Personal Health Information (PHI) collected.
  • Manages all enrolled SCDHHS Waiver Participation Service Authorizations and Additional Service Units as needed through the SCDHHS Phoenix Provider Portal.
  • Manages and monitors RSP opening and terminations via the SCDHHS SharePoint Database or email as needed.
  • Monitoring of data and paperwork for accurate waiver enrollment to the Enhanced Provider Network as well as the Fee for Service network.
  • Assist with the maintaining, updating, and ensuring accurate information for all participants on the Medically Complex Children’s Waiver via spreadsheet documentation, surveillance, and upkeep.
  • Monitoring paperwork, SCDHHS information, and client information upon waiver enrollment. Communicate and follow-up with staff if needs are noted.
  • When deemed appropriate, complete discharge of participants from the waiver, to include ensuring accurate documentation, necessary referrals have been completed, participant information is up to date, sending of information to SCDHHS and essential staff, completing RSP monitoring, and monitoring for accurate closure and discharge of participant from the waiver.
  • Assist with sending, reviewing, and analyzing the Recon report returned by CHS America to ensure the collected data within the Enhanced Provider Network is accurate.
  • Compile and send weekly enrollment emails to necessary parties as well as maintaining the MCCW Advocate email. 
  • Collect, develop processes for, and analyze data when appropriate to assist with Quality Improvement Plans and other quality data validation measures.
  • Assist with compiling emergency reports at prescribed intervals throughout the year and assist in ensuring emergency databases and forms are up to date and continuously ready for use.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. A degree in science, health, or data is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and disease.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite and One Drive, especially Excel required.
  • High level of reasoning and analytical skills are required
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Criminal background check as required by the state where business is conducted

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  None Required

 

Computer Skills:

Strong proficiency in using software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel.


Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry and vision to monitor. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
